Charities
Curves of Wickford has established an enviable reputation for supporting charities and this has been recognised through being awarded a prestigious Basildon Business Award for the past two years.
During the past year, the club and all its members have worked tirelessly for charities, locally and nationally, raising phenomenal amounts of cash. The club also supported a local women's refuge last christmas by donating literally hundreds of presents for those most needy.

Our most recent success was the fantastic Race For Life held on Sunday 15th June 2008. Over 120 of our members took part and raised in excess of £12,000 for such a worthy and important cause, supporting Cancer Research UK.
The club regularly collects sundry items on behalf of soldiers in active service abroad which are always very well received. The returning correspondence highlights the importance of our small contribution to improving the lives of men and women in active service around the world.
Charities supported in the past year include:
- Macmillan Cancer Support
- Children In Need
- Cancer Research UK
- Jeans for Genes
- St Luke's Hospice
- Homestart
- The Salvation Army
- Basildon Women's Aid
- Breast Cancer Campaign
- Comic Relief
- Hilltop Infants School PTA
- and many more...
